The Profit Sequences are the three-step combinations that result in profitability. Any activity an employee or staff member is involved in should not be more than three steps away from the profit zone.
Think of the Profit Zone activities as the center of three concentric circles. The Profit Sequences are the circles surrounding the Profit Zone. Here is an example of the three-step sequence from the inside out :
Step One: People making it happen
The employees directly maintaining and improving one or more of the nine activities of the Profit Zone
Step Two: People supporting the people who make it happen
The employees supporting the people who are maintaining and improving one or more of the nine activities of the Profit Zone
Step Three: People supporting the processes that make it happen
The employee’s whose activities support the processes of maintaining and improving one or more of the nine activities of the Profit Zone

The Profit Zone is the strike zone, the profit sweet spot so necessary that the company’s very survival and success depend on it. If an enterprise under performs on too may of these activities it is at serious risk of going out of business.
